Rife Recording Studio is a 128 track audio recording facility, designed from the ground up with the sole purpose of capturing your musical performance in the best way possible. We have full multi-tracking and outborad analog mastering capabilities, along a referral to a cost effective, professional duplication and packaging company. We teach the use of Pro Tools to interns from the Recording Institute of America. With the latest 64 Bit Avid Pro Tools 12 software powered by Universal Audio’s High Definition Apollo Converters and UAD Plugins, the sound of analog recording meets the power of digital editing. Full Analog Summing through our Dangerous Music D-Box, along with unmistakable plug-in emulations of vintage analog outboard gear by companies such as Neve, Fairchild, Pultec, SSL, Teletronix, EMT, Shadow Hills, and more give digital recording the rich sound of analog.
On the front end of all of this is the same audio console used to mix major studio sound tracks, the Tascam DM-4800, a 64 Channel, 24 buss, fully automated digital mixer with flying faders and a “FAT” channel strip containing 4 band EQ and full dynamic compression/expansion on every channel, along with the Midas Venice F32, an all-analog, 32 channel mixer with a 4 band analog EQ on each channel. For vocal treatment we have high voltage vacuum tube microphone preamps and tube compression to give your voice that big studio sound from manufacturers such as Universal Audio, Great River, Avalon, JoeMeek, Golden Age, and ART. We have a wide range of microphones available for your use, from the industry standard Shures to large diaphragm tube condensers and Ribbons by Cascade, Audio-Technica, Blue Bird, MXL and more.
There is no need to haul heavy gear to our studio, unless, of course, you want to. We have a full six piece set of DW Pacific Birch drums with Zildjian “Custom A” cymbals, along with Fender Deluxe, Orange TH30 with a Vai Legacy cab loaded with Vintage 30 speakers, Marshall DSL, Egnater Renegade, and Ampeg Portaflex PF-800 guitar and bass amplifiers. You will also find a Steinway B piano at your disposal. In addition, we have the Akai MPC Studio beat maker and the Akai MPK88 keyboard with full MIDI capabilities.
