Carol Montag

Sunday, August 1: Singer/songwriter Carol Montag will fill our home with her talent.

As one critic wrote, “Carol Montag is not folk or blues or modern, she cannot be categorized, she must be heard.” Another wrote, “Carol sings from the heart about places in all our hearts. She charmed us, humbled us and we all made a friend.”

Jennifer Lee

Saturday, July 17: Oakland, CA recording artist Jennifer Lee will be featured at our next House Concert.  Jennifer’s most recent CD, Quiet Joy, highlights every facet of this jazz singer/songwriter/arranger’s talent.  The local duo performing with Jennifer are Pat Smith, guitar, and Rich Wagor, double bass.  Complete bios of each artist and details about House Concerts appear on our House Concerts page.



Saturday, April 10: Rife Recording Studio hosted recording of the final song on the CD “We’re Comin’ Back.”  Local charitable organization Flood Them With Love will be selling the CD for $15, with proceeds to go to victims of the 2008 flood.  The CD features original works of over 20 local artists and a variety of genres including blues, rock, folk, jazz, and gospel.

The artists donated their time and song license rights.  Rife Recording Studio donated over 200 hours of recording, mixing, and mastering time.  Production costs were donated as well.  These donations make it possible for Flood Them With Love to contribute all of the proceeds of the CD to the needs of flood victims.  This project was featured in the Cedar Rapids Gazette.

A free kick-off concert featuring CD artists will be held on Saturday, June 12 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. in the Guaranty Bank parking lot in downtown Cedar Rapids.
