Rife Recording Chosen to Mentor Intern

Intern Erich Sandersfeld

Intern Erich Sandersfeld

Rife Recording has been selected to provide an internship experience.  Both Mentor Apprentice School of the Arts in Los Angeles, CA, and the intern must agree on the studio selected.  We were honored to be chosen by both the school and the intern, Erich Sandersfeld of Amana, Iowa.  Erich is working toward his Audio Engineering certification here at Rife Recording Studio.  Erich has assisted in recording blues, rock, and gospel.  Country and classical are coming up on his schedule.  Welcome, Erich.

Rife Recording Studio is a fully automated 64 track audio recording facility, designed from the ground up with the sole purpose of capturing your musical performance in the best way possible.  We have full multi-tracking and mastering capabilities, along with professional duplication and packaging available.

With the latest Digidesign Pro Tools software powered by Universal Audio’s UAD-2 DSP, the sound of analog recording meets the power of digital editing.  Unmistakable plug-in emulations of vintage analog outboard gear by companies such as Neve, Fairchild, Pultec, SSL, Teletronix, EMT, and more give digital recording the rich sound of analog.

Used by nearly every major recording studio in the world, Pro Tools is the industry standard multi-track recording platform. At Rife Recording Studio, we have the ability to let you record with anyone in the world, in real time, who has a Pro Tools System.  No matter if your drummer is in LA, Seattle, Chicago, New York or halfway around the world, you can still lay your tracks down with them in real time from our studio.

On the front end of all of this is the same audio console used to mix major studio sound tracks, the Tascam DM-4800, a 64 Channel, 24 buss, fully automated digital mixer with flying faders and a “FAT” channel strip containing 4 band EQ and full dynamic compression/expansion on every channel.

For vocal treatment we have high voltage vacuum tube microphone preamps and tube compression to give your voice that big studio sound. We also employ the Joe Meek Twin Q “British” channel strip comprised of a transformer coupled preamp, four bands of British EQ, and optical compression for that signature “Joe Meek” sound.

We have a wide range of microphones available for your use, from the industry standard Shure to large diaphragm tube condensers and ribbon microphones by Cascade and Blue Bird.
